Best Tahoe Casino Buffet
While the buffet wasn't invented in Nevada – it has its roots in France and Sweden who later brought the concept to the U.S. during the 1939 World's Fair in the form of a 'smorgasbord' – the casinos of the Silver State certainly perfected the art of all-you-can-eat. El Rancho Vegas, the first resort on The Strip, was also the first to offer their guests a buffet; the Buckaroo Buffet began as a rather simple assortment of cold cuts and a few hot dishes designed to keep late night gamblers happy but would go on to launch a now ubiquitous dining concept.
There are not as many casino buffets in the Tahoe area as there are in the Reno area, but the Forest Buffet at Harrah's, the buffet at Montbleu and the Town Square Buffet at the Horizon in Stateline do offer some of the best food deals in the Lake Tahoe area. Year after year, the Forest Buffet is voted “Best Buffet” in the annual Best of Tahoe Reader’s Poll conducted by the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Additionally, Casino Player readers recently selected it as “Lake Tahoe’s Best Buffet.”. The Rotisserie Buffet is open seven days a week for Lunch or Dinner, plus Breakfast on Saturday and Champagne Brunch Sunday. Watch for Special Holiday Buffets. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Casino: Located in the town of Incline Village, the Hyatt is by far the best-rated casino on the north shore. Besides the casino, there's a 400-plus-room hotel with a spa and a private beach with fire pits. You can plan a wedding here and choose from several beautiful spots to hold the ceremony, including a private beach.
